Well, here’s a possible explanation! From Act 5.2:

GA: But Id Rather Not Get Stuck In That Kind Of Pattern Again
GA: So If You Want To Wreck Turtle Villages And Tear Your Planet Apart On The Counsel Of Dark Gods

GA: “…”Kanaya might still be afraid of HELPING ROSE with her problems because of what happened with Vriska, fearing it might accidentally turn into a pale relationship!
and it’s not just that she wants rose flushed, either. rose at her most (self-)destructive is similar to vriska, and kanaya doesn’t want to get roped into dealing with that again and being similarly disappointed.
